I spent my twenties reading history books by day and dancing at every fete in San Fernando by night, and somewhere along the way I realised I never had to choose between the two. My name is Jada. I'm 33, a Trinidadian woman who loves Carnival as much as a good museum, who can talk about calypso lyrics for hours and then lead you onto the dance floor at midnight. I grew up in the shadow of San Fernando Hill, and I still climb it some mornings to watch the light spread over the Gulf. These days I'm a party companion with a curious mind. Take me to a club, a boat cruise or a private fete, and I'll be the one keeping the night lively.
