Friday on Ariapita Avenue: music spilling out of every doorway, two uncles arguing about cricket, the smell of corn soup from a pot on the corner. Somewhere in the middle of it, a woman in a red dress is laughing at a man's terrible joke. Spoiler: that woman is me, and the joke really was terrible.
